Does Lasik Enhancement Really Helps
The eyes may be the window to a person’s soul but we know that its function does not simply end with that. We use our eyes often that we take care of it so much. We realize its importance since its use is literally seen by every person. This is the reason why certain operations are done to people who wanted to improve their eyesight. One of which is the Lasik.
Lasik surgery is done on individuals to correct refractive errors in their eyes. This type of operation uses laser to change the shape of the cornea. Lasik surgery is irreversible, thus the patients are very well selected and tests should be done first before the operation would take place. After the operation, the patient is expected to go through changes in her eye, such as dryness and blurry eyesight.
If the surgery has been completed but the result had been under correction or over correction, Lasik enhancement procedures are another option open for the patient. The eyes nonetheless heal by its own. However, if advised by a surgeon, a patient should still undergo the enhancement to make sure that the eyes will be able to adapt faster and more safely from the first surgery.
As a rule, Lasik enhancement is done usually three months after the Lasik surgery. This is done to give the eyes enough time to heal and be stable before undergoing another procedure. After the Lasik surgery, a person should not always resolve to Lasik enhancement. Enough time should be allotted for the eye to adapt to the new situation and jumping into a solution of Lasik enhancement may neither be really helpful nor necessary. The eyes take time to heal, and the person should first observe the eye’s reaction to the surgery. If it is good enough, then the surgery is successful. Lasik enhancement should only be done if there are some effects out of the surgery that a patient cannot do certain activities due to overcorrection or under correction and not simply because a person want to improve his or her vision. There might be other ways to improve the vision, resolving immediately to Lasik enhancement is not generally advised.
Lasik enhancement is the procedure done after the primary Lasik surgery. It does not promise to make the vision better since it is another surgical operation, it has the same risk as the first one. As a result, it may improve the vision a little better, or a little worse. The two options are always open after any surgery, just like the Lasik surgery, or the Lasik enhancement.
Once Lasik surgery has been done to a person, and after cautious tests, Lasik enhancement is still advised by a surgeon, careful preparation should now be followed and done by the patient still with the support of the surgeon. Being ready for the operation will again be done to ensure the safety and to achieve the best results from the operation. Improving the eyesight may have some risks to conquer and achieve, but what is more important is the safety of the patient.
